- 4 large eggs
- 8 ounces unsalted butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 1⁄4 cups cocoa, Valrhona brand
- 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup walnuts, rough chop (optional)
- 1⁄3 cup coconut, shredded (optional)
- 1⁄2 cup dipping caramel, drizzled on top (optional)
directions
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- Grease and flour a half sheet pan.
- Beat eggs with whisk until fluffy and light yellow in color.
- Sift sugars, cocoa powder, flour and salt together over a large sheet of parchment paper.
- Slowly pour sifted ingredients into beaten eggs while whisking.
- Slowly pour melted butter into mixture until evenly incorporated.
- Stir in nuts and coconut *if using these optional ingredients.
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Drizzle dipping caramel over top of brownie batter *optional.
- Bake until toothpick comes out of center almost clean, with just a few small crumbs attached (approx 45 mins.).
- Allow to cool and cut into any size/shape you like.
- Store these brownies in tin foil to keep them fresh.
