  • In a large mixing bowl combine the 1st seven ingredients in order given and mix well.
  • Chill dough 2-3 hours or until dough is easy to handle.
  • Roll out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
  • Cut with various cookie cutters.
  • (Cookie cutters may have to be floured).
  • Place on a greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 375° for 7-8 minutes or until lightly brown.
  • Cool on wire racks.
  • For frosting combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in small bowl.
  • Transfer equal amounts of frosting into separate bowls.
  • Add desired amount of butter/mint flavoring.
  • Mix in food coloring.
  • Frost cookies and refrigerate overnight.

  4. Ooops. I meant to add that as the icing is rather sweet, go easy with it. I would suggest piping it onto the cookies here and there (a snowflake design is sparse and still lovely), but not spreading over the entire area of the cookie. And my sister didn't add flavoring to the icing and it was fine. In fact, I preferred the cookies unfrosted, though they don't look so nice that way. I'd even drizzle a bit of melted chocolate on them for a change.

I am 13 years old and I plan to become a chef. My favorite cookbook is Postal Recipe cook book. My pet peeve is stepping on water with a sock on!!! That is soo annoying! Also teachers that think they are the only teacher you have!!
