ingredients
-
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH
- 1 1⁄4 cups brown sugar, light
- 3⁄4 cup Crisco
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 3⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- cream cheese (2- 8 oz. pkg)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- With a hand mixer, cream brown sugar and Crisco together in a large bowl, then add milk, vanilla and egg and blend again. Add flour and salt and blend until just mixed together. Divide cookie dough in half and set aside 2nd half.
- In a second bowl mix all cream cheese filling ingredients until smooth.
- Spread 1st half of cookie dough on the bottom of greased 13 X 9 pan. It will help if your hands are wet, otherwise the dough will stick to your fingers.
- Pour the cream cheese filling over the cookie dough.
- Top the filling with remaining dough by creating dabs if dough (or little pancakes of dough). Once again it will help if your fingers are wet.
- Bake at 350 F for about 50-60 minutes, or until cake tester comes out clean.
- Cut into bite sized pieces - it's very rich!

I am a married cruise-only travel agent with two stepsons, aged 20 and 25. It took a while to get the boys used to my cooking, as they were raised on fast food and pre-packaged foods (i.e. mac-n-cheese from the blue box, frozen dinners, Chef Boyardee, McDonalds, etc.). My mother is from Spain and I lived there as well as Germany, England and Italy growing up, which influenced both my career and my cuisine!</p>
