Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 cup ground peanuts (or 250 g)
  • 1 chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • 23 cup oil (peanut oil is usually used, or 150 cc)
  • 20 ounces ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded and finely chopped (or 500 g)
  • 2 ounces onions, finely sliced (or 50 g)
  • hot black pepper
  • salt and pepper

  1. Brown chicken in half the oil. Heat the rest of oil in a large pot, and add tomatoes, mashing them. Add onions, hot pepper powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook 15 minutes, then add chicken. Thin peanut paste slightly with about 1 cup/250 cc of water, and add to chicken, mixing well. Add more hot pepper to taste. Cook, covered, over medium heat for 20 minutes or until chicken is done. Sauce should be thick. Served with steamed rice.
