Cheesy Garlic Bread

"I've been making this recipe for years. Several years ago my son made this for his high school cooking class. His teacher told him it would never work (too many ingredients), but the other students gobbled up the slices. The recipe is quite adaptable. I've used low-fat mayonnaise and it works fine. I've also used fresh or dried parsley with great results. Sometimes I've used other cheeses in place of t he Parmesan."

I live in Cullman, AL and work? as a librarian. For fun I cook and bake. I don't have a favorite cookbook, because I am always adding to my collection of cookbooks. The ones that I use most often include The Mitford Cookbook and Louisiana Entertains. I have been slowly baking my way through two great cookbooks -- All Cakes Considered and Cakes From Scratch in Half the Time. I subscribe to way too many cooking magazines!
