"I make this every Christmas morning. Prepare the evening before and refrigerate overnight. I brown the sausage ahead of time and freeze in ziploc bag for faster preparation."

  • Brown sausage, then drain well.
  • Grease a 9x13" pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In large bowl mix eggs with mustard, milk and salt until fully combined. Set aside.
  • Add toasted and cubed bread, sausage and 8 oz. cheese into prepared pan. Stir to combine.
  • Mix eggs with mustard, milk and salt and pour over other ingredients in pan.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Save the other 8oz. of cheese for morning.
  • In the morning, remove casserole from fridge, allowing to sit at room temperature while oven is preheating to 375 degrees.
  • Remove plastic wrap, top with remaining 8 oz. cheese, then cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake covered in preheated oven for 45 minute Uncover, then bake an additional 10-15 minute until eggs have set and cheese is melted.
