The Lemon Sauce gives this pudding such a nice taste.

  1. For Pudding:.
  2. Soak bread in milk 5 minutes.
  3. Add sugar, butter and salt.
  4. Pour slowly over eggs.
  5. Add vanilla and mix well.
  6. Pour into greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
  7. Bake over pan of hot water in oven at 350 degrees until firm, about 1 hour.
  8. For Sauce:.
  9. Mix sugar,flour and salt; add water and cook over low heat until thick.
  10. Add butter and lemon juice.
