tasty side dish for steaks, roast or chops.
- 6 medium onions, peeled and cut in 1/2 inch slices
- 1⁄2 cup dry white wine
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons corn syrup
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- Place onions, wine, salt, corn syrup and cloves in a saucepan.
- Simmer at a low heat until tender (about 20 minutes).
- Blend flour and butter and then mix into onions to thicken.
- Remove cloves before serving.
