- 1⁄4 cup paprika
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons corn oil
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
directions
- Mix spices in a bowl. Heat a large skillet, preferably cast iron, on high heat for 10 minutes or until smoking hot. Lay shrimp out on a baking sheet and coat evenly with about 2 teaspoons of corn oil. Heavily season shrimp on both sides with the spice mixture.
- Place shrimp in the heated skillet and cook over high heat for 30 to 45 seconds on each side until cooked through.
