Basic Tomato Sauce

"This is the base sauce I make in large quantity and then freeze. I often add things to the defrosted portions before use, and I also use it in various dishes, like lasagna. I created it myself. spices can be varied to desired taste. I often swap the sage listed here for rosemary."

directions

  • dice the onion, and dice or crush the garlic,
  • simmer in water until onion is translucent.
  • add other spices.
  • add tomatoes.
  • bring to verge of boil.
  • turn temp to low.
  • simmer for 1-8 hours, stirring every 20-40 minutes.
  • enjoy.
