Barbecued Chicken from the Oven

- 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (2 1/2-3 lb) broiler-fryer chickens, cut up
- 1⁄4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
- 1⁄2 cup ketchup
- 1⁄2 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place butter or margarine in 13 x 9 pan and set in oven only long enough for butter or margarine to melt. Watch carefully so you don't burn it! It won't take long to melt.
- Mix the flour, paprika, salt and pepper well in zip-type plastic bag. Shake chicken to coat in the mixture.
- Place chicken skin side down in pan and bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
- Mix ketchup, onion, water, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, chili powder and pepper. Combine well.
- Remove chicken from oven and turn the pieces over. Brush or spoon sauce on top of meat and bake 30 minutes more.
- Enjoy!
