Quick easy and oh so good
Make and share this Avocado with Prosciutto Appetizer recipe from Food.com.
- 2 avocados, peeled and quartered
- 8 slices prosciutto or 8 slices ham
- 8 pimento stuffed olives
- 8 lemon wedges
- Wrap a slice of prosciutto or ham around a quarter of an avocado, secure with a toothpick Garnish with the olive on the end of the pick and the wedge of lemon.
Can I give this 1/2 a star? This was very difficult to eat, lacked taste and the olives just didn't work. The prosciutto was slippery on the avocado and not easy to bite into. Also, I cut the avocado in 8ths and it was still too much avocado per piece, there is no way a whole 1/4 of an avocado would work for each piece. I will not be making this again.
I halved the recipe since I was just eating it as part of my lunch (the other part was lox and cream cheese on rye). I didn't have lemon, so I drizzled on bottled lemon juice. It was scrumptious, though I'd recommend using the tiny olives since my jumbo size overwhelmed the other flavors when I ate them in the same bite. The real taste sensation here is the avocado accented by the salty prosciutto.
