ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons shortening
- 1 cup milk
- 6 apples
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- sugar
directions
- Preheat oven at 350°.
- Pare and core the apples.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add shortening and milk; mix until smooth.
- Put onto a floured surface and divide into six portions.
- Roll a large enough portion to cover and apple.
- Place an apple on each piece of dough.
- Fill the apple with the cinnamon and sugar.
- Wet edges of dough and fold it over the apple.
- Place on greased baking sheet, and bake for about 40 minutes, or until tender.
