This is based on the Outback Steakhouse's Sauteed 'Shrooms - I found this recipe on the web. Burgandy isn't one of the more widely available reds, but I've found that Bordeaux makes a nice replacement.
- 11 ounces beef broth
- 1⁄2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 (8 ounce) canssmall whole mushrooms
- 1⁄3 cup Burgundy wine
- Simmer the broth and onions for 15 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms and wine and simmer for another 15 minutes.
If you can't find a real Burgundy in your area, I'd suggest using Pinot Noir, since that's what a Burgundy is made with.
