  1. This was actually really good! I used almond milk, I'm not sure if I didn't shake it enough but it was still a little bit runny. I think in general the ice cream recipes that use cream are best. I highly recommend this!

  2. Taste really good! My only complaint is that it melts really fast. So shake it for a little longer than 10 minutes.

  3. I had 10 kids do this as a birthday party activity and it turned out great. I do recommend doing it outside as the kids weren't always paying attention and got salt water everywhere from bag leaks. Some used half and half, one used fat free/lactose free filtered milk, one used vanilla soy milk. I didn't try the different ones to check out the texture, but they all set and the kids had no complaints. Nice that I could accommodate some dietary restrictions.

  4. This recipe is bad, I followed the recipe exactly and shaked it hard for 5 minuets. It was still liquid. I shaked it for another 5 minuets and it was still liquid. Don’t try this recipe

  5. Haven't tried making it yet. Just wondering why the sodium is so high in the nutrition info when the salt doesn't go into the ingredients.

Tweaks

  1. So, This ended up really bad. All it tasted like was a plain wet salty slushie. I recommend to add sugar and shake it up longer because it will end up like mine. Good luck!

  2. you have to use kosher salt and it works better if used with half and half then it won't be as slushie like. If you do a recipe make sure to be more specific in ingredients it works best when you mix it for 10-15 min.

  3. Tip 1: Use whole milk. The more fat the milk has, the more creamy the ice cream will be. Tip 2: Use whipping cream. It help the ice cream to become more creamy. Tip 3: May have to shake bag for a long time so if it doesn't become creamy after 5 minute, you may have to shakes the bag up to 10-15 minute. Hope this helps. Fun fact: For something to be consider ice cream the milk mixture used must have more than 10% fat.

  4. You can add chocolate syrup instead of vanilla. I did that and it tasted good. A little extra sugar doesn't hurt either.

  5. it is really good 5 stare u need to shake it for 5 to ten min and change the ice constantly it tasted liie shaved ice and soft ice like a smottie i love it higly recamend u should try it with almond milk wow that is popin ppl ok this is the best thing in da world so try it read this if u have any probs

I love to cook and try new recipes. Even if I mess it up I still learned something... how not to make it :) I have a big family so I had a lot of people to teach me when I was growing up. Everything from how to make a killer gravy to a silky fudge(grandpa taught me that one) and everything in between. one of My favorite things to make for friends and family is my texas style spagetti or during the holidays it's gotta be baklava. Besides cooking I really love to read and camp and yes I cook on the campfire.. can't stand those little propane stoves :)
