10-Minute Marinara Sauce

"This is a good sauce for pasta! Recipe is from Woman's Day. Plan ahead: Use half the sauce for 1 lb pasta, then refrigerate the rest up to 1 week, or freeze."

  1. This is perfect for a quick weeknight meal! 10 minutes - that's it!! Did add a bit of crushed red pepper to add some spice! Thanks Lainey! :)

  2. This sauce is marvelous for the little time it takes to prepare. I usually use recipe #332598 but I didn't have any left in the freezer and there wasn't enough time to make a batch up. So I came to Zaar and found this recipe. I added some basil and a bay leaf and pureed it so the kids (and husband) couldn't find any chunks of tomatoes. I will be using this marinara sauce to prepare recipe #303399 tonight. Thank you Lainey6605.

  3. Made this up in a flash last night. Took lots of tastes...yummy. I will be using it in two recipes this week. It is great to have a sauce that is made at home to use. I made two little changes. I used tomato sauce instead of crushed tomaoes (simply because ididn't have any crushed tomatoes) I also added a little bit of oregano. Don't judge this sauce before it cooks a little. The flavors need a little time to blend in. In fact I think making it a 20 minutes sauce and lettingit simmer some is a good idea. Thanks Lainey...this will be my go to from now on.

  4. What's not to like about this sauce? It's economical, super speedy and most importantly it tastes good. We enjoyed it with some bucatini pasta.A great standby for when time is short, and a great one for the children!! Thanks Lainey.Made for 1-2-3 Hits.

  5. WOW! Yummy and so quick to make: I'll be using this recipe often. I used Aldi's Italian tomatoes (as I find that they are the best around) and doubled the garlic. Being a garlic fiend, this is just something I tend to do often. I also added some basil to the Italian herb mix, and I look forward to experimenting with other herb combinations. A truly wonderful sauce, that I know I shall be making again and again. And when I have a bit of extra time, I'll be adding a leek - or two - as I love the combination of onions, garlic and leeks. Thanks for sharing another super recipe, Lainey! Made for Healthy Choices Tag.
