Pork Chop Easy, Tasty Dinner in One Pan

"I found this about 40 years ago in the newspaper - lovely unexpected flavors! Since I have not seen anything like it I decided to contribute. I strongly suggest you try it as written, I have never needed to tweak it. I know, ketchup! But it works! (Now Heinz has come out with one without High Fructose corn syrup). I use an electric frypan. The chops are always tender, moist and tasty. Everybody I have served it to asks for the recipe. Give it a try, Enjoy!"

 1. What a lovely skillet dinner, particularly on a cold and snowy night in January. Smelled wonderful while cooking. I used orange bell peppers and red skin potatoes in this (left the skins on) so my dish was a little orange overall. Green pepper would be pretty, as would fresh parsley to garnish. (I used some dried parsley.) All this needed to accompany was crunchy bread. My husband adored this, and so did my son who'd had a fun afternoon sledding with friends. Just what the cook wants - a delicious smelling house and hearty food that delivers for hungry folks coming through the door! Thanks for a winner!

 2. Needed to find a recipe for bone in pork chops with ingredients I had on hand. This was the winner. I omitted the green pepper as it was not on hand. I also doubled the sauce just because I am a sauce kind of gal. This was super yummy! Husband also enjoyed it and we will have it again. Thanks for this keeper!

 3. My wife and our guest gave it a 4 and I did a 3. I thought it was a llittle sweet and needed a little zip.I used red skin potatoe and sweet onions (maybe) I should have used yellow onions. I think triple the garlic. I am going to try it again with some changes. Thanks for the recipe!

0I should have used yellow onions.

I love to try new recipes (about 75% of what I make is new or experimental) Variety in meals is vital! I rarely serve the same thing more than 6 times a year (except spaghetti). I am also an avid gardener and try to grow a wide variety of herbs and veggies. (I say "try' because not everything I plant succeeds). I keep trying. Chinese vegetables, lemon grass etc. It's so much better when you can go out and snip fresh stuff. People always ask for my baked beans (which are very different), my spaghetti sauce, my chili has won neighborhood cook offs. My favorite cookbooks are the annual Southern Livings.
