ingredients
- 1 lb brown sugar
- 1⁄2 lb salted butter
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- Blend all ingredients in a food processor or mixer and store in the fridge or freezer. To make a drink add a shot of good dark rum along with 1 or 2 tablespoons of batter to a mug of very hot water. Serve in Irish coffee cup.

My Youngest Daughter had a yearning for Hot Buttered Rum, and after purchasing the batter from the market at $5 for enough to make 4 drinks she asked for a recipe to make a bunch. We made this up, and found it to make enough for the season, a better tasting, smoother batter than anything you could purchase. My Baby Girl was tickled pink as was her dear husband.
