Tweaks

  1. I've made these twice now using this recipe as a template, and both times I've had to add more flour--after adding 1.5 cups, I'll add more in eighth cup increments until I get that kneadable consistency; I think it was either 1/2 cup more or 3/4 cup more, total, both times, but ultimately, that kneadable consistency is how you'll know you've got the right amount--and about double the baking time--I'll start with the prescribed 15 minutes and bake longer, in 5 minute increments, till I get that golden brow; usually takes 15-20 minutes longer, depending on how frequently I check and let the hot air out of the oven.
