This is one of the top 5 bread recipes I have gotten from Zaar (now a new benchmark to judge other loaves by)! You should be so lucky to find a bread this perfect from a bakery! Mixed & did first raise in the bread machine & divided & put into 2 loaf pans for second raise. I used raisin cycle & added raisins, walnuts and about a tablespoon of cinnamon when the "beep" went off. Baked at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes...OMG, tender crumb that holds perfectly for cutting into slices...the flavor is BEAUTIFUL! I used King Arthur's white whole wheat flour &, after adding a bit too much water when my ancient bread machine sounded like she was straining with initial mix, added about 1/2 cup additional unbleached flour. I added 2x walnuts b/c I had no sunflower seeds & added cinnamon but otherwise followed the ingedients & measurements. Thank you CandleLady for THE go-to raisin bread recipe! This will be made weekly in our house!

I grew up in a small town in southwest Virginia but have now settled down in the mountains of Tennessee. I have also lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Alaska and Washington. Throughout the years, I have met lots of wonderful people and made some great lifelong friends who share my love for cooking. I always enjoy all the new dishes that my friends and family share with me. I love to entertain and have friends and family over and they love to come and eat!! My kitchen is always open with good food and warm conversation! My motto is: The recipe that is not shared with others will soon be forgotten; but when it is shared, it will be enjoyed by future generations.
