- 1 cup very warm water
- 2 1⁄4 teaspoons fast rising yeast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon molasses
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 1⁄2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 1⁄2 cups spelt flour
directions
- Dissolve yeast, olive oil & molasses in water. Let foam 5 minutes.
- Stir in salt. Then slowly add the flours until dough forms a ball that is slightly sticky. Place on a floured surface and knead until dough is smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise 20 minutes. Roll out to desired pan size and thickness. You may want to let rise slightly again, depending on desired crust thickness.

Thank you! We love this crust. I had just been using the recipe/pizza crust setting on my bread machine, but was looking for something healthier. I love spelt flour in anything, and this recipe does not disapoint. Even better, it's faster and no more messy than using the bread machine, plus it's a good stress reliever to knead dough by hand every once in a while. :)
