Weight Watchers Monte Cristo Sandwiches

  • Beat the egg, egg white, and milk in a pie plate or wide, shallow bowl.
  • Spread the mustard on 4 slices of bread. Layer with cheese and ham, top with remaining slices of bread, press together tightly.
  • Spray a large nonstick pan with spray; heat.
  • One at a time, dip the sandwich in the egg mixture to coat; then place them on hot skillet.
  • Cook, pressing down with spatula, till lightly brown on both sides, 4 minutes aprox, each side.
  • Serve at once.

  1. I haven't tried this but had to calculate since no one else did. This is 8 points per sandwich on the new Points Plus program.
     
  2. This was pretty tasty even thought it was a bit different from any other Monte Cristo that I've had. I don't remember ever having mustard on Monte's Cristo's and I really didn't care for it. Other than that, I will be making this again. The whole family (kids included) liked it!
     
  3. i don't think this tastes much like the traditional monte cristo sandwich- but good lordy, it is GOOD! i am actually eating it as i'm typing this review. i like to have sandwich stuff around the house because they're so easy, but i'm so sick of the regular old turkey sandwich. this is a nice, simple alternative to the same old same old! thanks so much for posting.
     
  4. Grilled Ham and Cheese meets French toast- the flavors were great! I did not care for the mustard, but that is left off easily enough. I grilled the bread first with a spray of butter flavored non-stick spray and used ff American cheese and lf Cheddar with thin sliced ham. I also used lite bread and halved the recipe. Very tasty!
     
  5. This is so good! I love Monte Cristo sandwiches but did not like the fat so this is a wonderful replica and without all the fat. It really is delicious and you DO NOT miss any of the fat. I have made this several times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke in my cooking and ya know what it is awesome, quick, and flavorful. I ave used gruyere, provolone, and mozzerella and they are all good. I do add a tsp. of vanilla to address some fo the sweetness. YUMMY
