Vanilla Creme....starbucks

"This recipe is my attempt to recreate Starbucks version of vanilla creme, which is my favorite beside caramel macchiato. This is a yummy tummy warming beverage, especially for curling up on the sofa and watching a good movie...or you could bring out those fancy biscottis and dip in the warm milk. This is a lowfat recipe that is high on flavor.Measurements are approximate and allow for adding more or less to the recipe to achieve desired taste."

  1. Why not use real cream and sugar instead of liquid coffee creamer? You can control the amount of sugar, and it's much less expensive. I've made this myself--it's much more personal and satisfying--like baking brownies from scratch rather than a mix.

  2. I didn't really follow this recipe, I just used the concept, but it turned out great so I give it 5 stars. I just heat some milk in the microwave and add about the same amount of creamer I would use for a cup of coffee. I think it's almost too sweet as it is, so I don't add any additional sweetener. I've used several flavors to mix things up a little and they've all been delicious. I've used vanilla nut, vanilla caramel, hazelnut biscotti, and tiramisu. All very good. I think you could use your favorite flavor of creamer and you'll love it. Thanks for the great idea!

  3. This is wonderful and foolproof! I make it with skim milk and splenda and take a thermos full to work with me in the morning. I really don't like water or coffee, so I end up drinking a lot of soft drinks. It's not only helped me cut back on soft drinks, it also has just the right amount of sweetness to keep me out of the candy dish.
