Vanilla Cream Icing

ingredients
- 1⁄3 cup Crisco shortening
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄4 cup water
directions
- Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl.
- Mix on medium speed with an electric mixer for 5 minutes.
- If you want to tint it, the icing gel colors work best. Just add it gradually until you get the desired shade.
- Icing can be stored in airtight containers at room temperature for an indefinite amount of time since there's nothing in it to go bad.

Sorry I can't give this recipe more stars. I had barely covered the cupcakes and the icing turned very thick and not very workable. It was fairly easy to make and it did have a good flavor. I put the left over cupcakes in the frige (we have dogs) and the next day, the icing was like cement (tasty, though!). DO NOT REFRIGERATE!!!
