ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 1⁄2 cup chopped onion
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- 2 (1 lb) cans green beans
- sliced almonds
- chopped pimiento
directions
- Cook bacon until crisp and remove from pan.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Saute onion in drippings.
- Add brown sugar, vinegar and green beans.
- Crumble bacon into mixture.
- Simmer 20-30 minutes.
- Garnish with almonds and pimento, if desired.

these green beans turned out pretty good. The recipe doesnt state if the green beans should be drained or not. I didnt drain mine and there was alot of juice. The flavor was good but I ended up adding more brown sugar to level out the vinegar a little more. I will probably serve these again but with variation.
