Stuffed Hamburgers

"Mom used to make these to stretch the budget. Now I fix them because they are tasty and my family asks for them. Dad asks that we make extras so he can make sandwiches the next day."

  1. Very unique tasting burgers! I normally cook my burgers on the grill, but chose to broil these as suggested in the recipe. I was pleasantly surprised by how moist and tastey they were. I did leave out the msg, and substituted oatmeal for the breadcrumbs, but otherwise I made it as posted. Thanks for sharing!

  2. We enjoyed these very much. My 6 generous patties did not shrink at all, were tender and had good flavor. Looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this one.

  3. Delicious burgers! This will be one of my OAMC recipes. They do freeze well before cooking and there are so many ways to serve them. This one is a keeper. Made for PAC Spring 08. Thanks for posting CAMom.

My husband and I lived in the SF Bay area for 30+ years. For most of those years, we both worked long hours and figuring out what to fix for dinner was the hardest part of my day. We semi-retired last year and I found Recipezaar - oh, where were you all for the last 30 years?? My new hobby is to do a zaar search for an ingredient or specific type of dish and then head for the kitchen to try it out. Our shared passion is riding our HD motorcycles. Exploring the beautiful United States on two wheels has opened a whole new world to us. I lived vicariously through Alton Brown's 2 seasons of exploring the regional culinary specialties of the country on motorcycle. That's certainly part of the fun of touring - get off the highway and explore the local towns and cuisines.
