  • Saute onions in butter until translucent.
  • Add cubed toast, cook another 2 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and sugar.
  • Simmer 30 minutes.
  • Serve.

  1. Excellent recipe ! Simple yet delicious......when I found I was out of bread I substituted croutons, with excellent results ! Reminds me of the stewed tomatoes my grandmother made when I was a girl.
     
  2. Very good. I used my yellow tomatoes from the garden and since they don't have a much acid as red I omitted the sugar. Added some salt and pepper and this was a hit. Made for the *Fall PAC 2007 game*
