Steel Oats are one of my fav breakfasts, it stays with you so long, has that chewy texture and is healthy what could be better. This recipe for them is what!! I love how easy it is to prepare - boil water and then add all the other stuff at one time and don't forget to stir. This is my kind of recipe - so was an easy pick when I was looking for recipes for the Great Britain leg of ZWT 8 for the Diners, Winers and Chives team. I did make some changes due to neccesity - no dates or raisins (hate them) and instead of apples added frozen Marionberries from my garden. YUM, what a great morning treat. This does make a lot so had plenty left over to pack away for a simple breakfast re-heat tomorrow.
