Shadows Fried Dill Pickles

- Ready In:
- 1 cup flour
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 1⁄2 cups dill pickle slices, thin
- 1⁄8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- oil (for frying)
- Mix the flour, salt, cayenne and pepper in a bowl.
- Lightly whip the egg in a separate bowl.
- Add the milk to the egg.
- Heat the oil (about 2 inches) to 325.
- Dip the pickle slices first into the flour, then the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour.
- Carefully place the pickles into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd. Fry until golden brown (about 8 minutes), turning once.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm.

YUM! so i love fried pickles, but haven't been able to find them since we moved to a new state. well, i'm pregnant now and have been craving and dreaming about friend pickles for weeks. i found this recipe and made them....OH MY. awesome. <br/>I used claussen's pickle spears (i think they are better with thin spears). the batter is awesome...in fact, i'm planning to use the batter recipe for some fried mushrooms soon.<br/>thanks for satisfying my craving! great recipe!
