ingredients
- 2 -6 drops red food coloring
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups uncooked white rice
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
directions
- Over medium-low heat on the stovetop, combine milk and rice.
- Cook until bubbly, then lower heat.
- Take off stovetop and then mix other ingredients to it.
- Enjoy my original recipe!

I'm so sorry but this just did not work at all. The rice would not cook fully in the milk. I also found your instructions really lacking with cooking times. I cooked the rice mixture for 20 minutes to try to get a thicker consistency before adding half n half but then it turned running again. It also seems to need something more - maybe some nutmeg/cinnamon? I'm glad it works for you but for our tastes it will not be a method I try again. Tagged in the Think Pink Tag Event 2011.

An interesting snacky dessert, though I did change things a bit ~ Half of the milk I used was 2% fat, while the heavy cream became half-and-half!
