Saucy Low Fat Lemonade Chicken

  • In mixing bowl combine, concentrate, ketchup, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and spices.
  • Cut chicken into bite size pieces and toss in ziplock back w/ flour. In large sauce pan heat oil. Shake off excess flour add chicken and brown on all sides.
  • Add sauce cover and simmer low, about 30 minutes or until cooked through.
  • You can add diced green bell pepper if you would like at the simmering point. It adds color and more flavour.

    YUMMY! This was super good. Like a sweet and sour chicken with KICK! I didn't add any of the basil/oregano/thyme just because I am not a fan and it was still phenomenal. Thanks for a great recipe, definitely using this all the time!

    Perfect just the way it is! And very easy to make. I was skeptical at first with the combination of spices, I am not really a fan of chili powder. But it works! I would think that you could also use pork in this, thought it would change the fat content, I'm sure. A keeper for us as we work on lowering fat in our diet and overall improving our eating habits. My 7 year old daughter didn't care for it, but she likes calamari and king crab so I am not worrying about it!

    This recipe was really good! I made it for my sister and my boyfriend and everyone liked it! I though it tasted like a lemony sweet and sour chicken. (I left out the ginger... because I don't like it) Definitely making it again!!! new addition to old review: I had originally only given this 4 stars but since the first time... I make it at least once a month because I crave it! Simple but soooo good! I now add the ginger and it is good. The only thing I do different is use wheat flour. Mmmm!
