  • Rinse and drain 2 cans black beans; do not drain third can.
  • Saute chopped onion and burger crumbles in hot oil in a large dutch oven over medium heat; about 6 minutes.
  • Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper; saute one minute.
  • Stir in drained and undrained beans, chicken broth, rotel tomatoes, beer, bbq sauce, brown sugar and tomato paste; reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 - 15 minutes.
  • Serve chili with desired toppings (sour cream, cheese, etc.).
