  • 2 lbs premium lean stewing beef
  • 12 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen stir fry vegetables, thawed
  • 1 (10 ounce) can beefy mushroom soup
  • 1 (10 ounce) can beef consomme
  • 23 cup bottled sweet and sour sauce
  • 3 tablespoons beef seasoning

directions

  • In a large skillet, brown stew meat sprinkled with ! teaspoon black pepper, and place in slow cooker.
  • In a large bowl, combine vegetables, soup, consomme, sweet and sour sauce, beef seasoning, and 1 cup of water.
  • Pour over stew meat and stir well.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours.

  1. I'm not usually big on using frozen vegetables (just something about 'em) except for corn & peas, but I did follow your recipe exactly, & was very nicely surprised! I suspect it was the sweet & sour sauce that did it for me, while my other half appreciated the fact that I included the beefy mushroom soup! So, happiness all around!   2. I've been asked to triple it next time! LOL It wasn't very Oriental to me, but I loved it anyways! Wasn't sure what you meant by beef seasoning so I used the powdered stuff you make beef broth or gravy with. I used a frozen mix of waxed and green beans, carrots and red and green peppers. DD wolfed it down and asked for more!
