ingredients
- 1 cup tepid water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup whole wheat bread flour
- 2 cups white bread flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons dried yeast
- 1⁄3 cup mixed seeds (linseed, pumpkin, sesame, poppy, sunflower is a good mixture)
directions
- Add the ingredients into the bread-machine in the order they appear above, so water first and seeds last.(You can buy seed mixes but I make up my own by buying small bags of each seed and mixing roughly equal quantities of each together in a tupperware box).
- Put the machine on the normal white bread cycle. Make sure the dough looks smooth after the first mixing stage - if not add flour or water as required.
- Sit back and relax. In 3-4 hours (depending on your bread machine) you will have a delicious and healthy bread.

This bread recipe is awesome and I am so thrilled to have found one that bakes successfully in my bread machine! I normally bake a whole grain bread (from Vanilla and Bean) that has to bake in the oven and takes 2-90 minute rise times, so very time consuming. I took the seeds that I soaked overnight for that recipe....1/4 cup 10 grain cereal, 2 tablespoons quinoa, 2 tbsp flax seeds, 2 tbsp sunflower seeds, 2 tbsp thick rolled oats and added all of this from my oven bread recipe to the machine. I also added 3 tbsp cooked brown rice and I added 1 tbsp of brown sugar and then followed your recipe as listed. AWESOME results! Because of my own curiosity, I am trying your recipe again right now with a few more tweeks from the Vanilla and Bean recipe. Along with the above, I added 1 tbsp of pure maple syrup and switched the flour to 1 1/2 cup whole wheat to 1 1/2 white flour and used 1 1/3 cup water.?? THANK YOU for posting!
