Mom's Anise Cookies

"Light cookie with a soft anise flavor. Great when decorated with a simple powdered sugar frosting. Old Stankiewicz family recipe"

ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1⁄2 cup milk
• 1 teaspoon anise oil
• 3 -4 cups flour
• 2 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder

directions

1. cream sugar, butter, eggs, milk, anise.
2. add flour and baking powder.
3. knead dough.
4. wrap in saran wrap and chill for 2 hours.
5. roll dough using plenty of flour to 1/8 - 1/4 inch thick.
6. cut cookie shapes.
7. bake 15 min or until edges begin to golden. 350 degrees.
