Linda's Butter Cookies

"These cookies melt in your mouth. Best roll out and cut cookies I've eaten. Chilling time is in the prep time."

• Yields: 50 cookies

ingredients

• 1 1⁄2 cups butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg, well-beaten
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder

• Easy cream icing

• 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1⁄2 tablespoons whole milk

directions

1. Cream butter and sugar.
2. Add egg and vanilla & beat well.
3. Sift flour and baking powder together and mix inches.
4. Refrigerate 2-3 hours.
5. Roll out to 1/4 inch. Cut out.
6. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
7. Ice with Easy cream icing.
8. Dough can be kept in the fridge for several days. Or freeze and thaw out later.
