Kombucha Coconut Oil Face Cream

"Got this recipe from a couple people on Facebook. I combined them and wanted to save it to try. Size of batch depends on size of your scoby. I would recommend a size of one that would fit in a quart jar mouth."

Questions & Replies

  1. I just made this using only coconut oil + SCOBY + kombucha. It made my skin feel AMAZING. I only left it on for a few minutes and rinsed w warm water. I am curious how long it will keep in the fridge? Thanks so much!

  1. I love this face cream/cleanser! I made it with various oils but my favorite by far is coconut oil! After a little experimenting with this recipe I found that it works best with a scoby (kombucha culture) that is at least 1/2" thick and the size around of a gallon jar. I started off making it with the smaller one as described but found more scoby = more awesomeness! This removes makeup really really well! Leaves your face clean yet never dry. I didn't even need any additional moisturizer and I am in my mid 40's. Just used an eye cream. The essential oils in this are crucial as well as they are all extremely good for your skin. If anyone out here wants to try this and needs a scoby please feel free to message me. I will gladly and you one for the cost of shipping. I found this works equally well on your neck and décolletage too, I have even used this in the shower with a loofah. It works really well as a ores have treatment but be warned, it leaves your shower pretty slippery! Thank you for an amazing recipe! Love it!
  2. Great recipe, it might hurt my feelings using one of my SCOBY babies, but I have too many... lol
  3. how tough this mask, I can save a few months? or is it to be done in the fresh dose I need? thank you

I am a Christian wife and mother of 3 kids. Since my DH's high cholesterol, we've been eating better. I never used to like cooking. Since eating better, I've liked learning and preparing new recipes. My kids haven't reconciled themselves to the new eating yet. I grind my own grain and make all my own breads.?Working 2 hours a day in the local high school lunch room.??I am homeschooling my high schooler.? ?Also found out 1 child has multiple food allergies (wheat, dairy, tomato, chocolate, etc) and another is gluten sensitive. So, we just started (July 09) eating gluten and dairy free. I've been busy with getting our house market ready, even though it's not the best time for that.?
