- 4 ounces sushi rice
- 1 carrot
- 1 onion
- 1⁄2 cup peas
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cumin
- 1⁄2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 cardamom, pod
- 1 teaspoon chili paste
- 1 apple
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- salt
- pepper
directions
- Caramelise onions for 15 minutes.
- Add cumin, turmeric and chilli and fry for 1 minute.
- Add peppers and any other vegetables.
- Add all sauces.
- Add rice and coat grains with the sauce.
- Add 1 cup of water.
- Grate apples into the rice.
- Add peas.
- Taste and season if needed.
- Cook rice until liquid is absorbed and rice is cooked.
