Ground Turkey Chili

"This is a low fat, slow cooker version that my family loves. I actually brown two packages of ground turkey. First night I serve tacos, the next morning I put all the cooked turkey in the slow cooker that night for dinner."

  1. We love this just as written. DH likes some fresh, sliced jalapeno on the side. I love the option to cook on either low for the 4 or high for the 8 hours and at 195 Calories per serving it is going to be in the weekly rotation around here. Thank you so much for sharing this healthy tasty recipe.

  2. We used Italian-flavored ground turkey. I omitted tomato paste and used 15 oz diced tomatoes and 10.5oz can of tomatoes with green chilies. Used a diced carrot, celery stalk, 2 jalapenos, and 1/4 c brown sugar. This was a great meal - served with rice. My husband loved it!

I have been a member of recipezaar and food.com for years. This is definitely my go-to place for recipes and love that I can have all my individual cookbooks to sort and store recipes. ? I like to experiment when I cook and find that I rarely follow a recipe as it is written. I am also pretty health conscious and try to cook low-fat for regular everyday meals (you can't skimp on the rich stuff for holiday meals & treats!). I also avoid processed foods and use fresh wholesome ingredients whenever possible.
