Grilled Ham and Blue Cheese Sandwich - Croque Monsieur

"Easy and tasty..what could be better. :) This is Rosenborg's version of Croque Monsieur. Makes a wonderful lunch. Serve with salad, fresh fruit or enjoy it all by itself. Note: Rosenborg is a brand of blue cheese products. This recipe was in their 2009 calendar."

Hmmm. Well, it had a nice rich blue cheese flavor but other than that I would prefer a blue cheese burger. My honey liked it as he is a big blue cheese fan but I didn't care for the aftertaste. Thank you for the recipe. Sadly, we all do have different palates.

Delicious lunch time dish. I used Rye Bread and Champagne Ham. A superb combination. Made for Aussie / Kiwi Swap March 2010

Very tasty combination! I used wholemeal bread which I thought went well with the richness of the cheese.

My husband loves blue cheese and I am not as fond of it as he is, but these simple and quick sandwiches are quite good and simple to make. Served with a lettuce salad, was a quick lunch.

We love dishes with blue cheese so this recipe sounded right up our ally. However, the store was out of our normal brand of blue cheese. I bought a brand I had never heard of. It was so over powering we could not taste the ham on our sandwiches. I will make this again with our normal blue cheese soon and will edit my post at that time including the addition of stars. I just didn't feel it was fair to rate it because of the cheese. Made for the 31st AUS/NZ Recipe Swap.
