- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 cups water
- 8 ounces brown rice pasta elbows, uncooked
- 1 (16 ounce) can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons dried minced onions
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cumin
- 2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
directions
- Brown ground beef and drain.
- Add all ingredients except cheese, stir.
- Bring to boil, then cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add shredded cheese to top, replace cover. Melt.
- You can leave the melted cheese on top or stir in, whichever you prefer.
