directions

  • in sauce pan, combine all ingredients except the apples. boil for 5 minutes.
  • wash and core the apples, slice, unpeeled into medium thick rings.
  • place in large baking pan and cover with the simmered sauce.
  • bake 275 degrees F. until apples are tender. About 30 minutes.
  • baste occasionally with syrup.
  • remove cloves and cinnamon, serve or refrigerate.

  1. These apple rings were really good -- loved the idea of the cranberry juice. We scaled the sugar back quite a bit and they were still very tasty. My DH really loves apple rings, so I will definitely be making them again. Made for Fall PAC, October, 2011.
