Garlicky Parmesan Bread Dip

"From a beautifully presented book I received from BusyMomof3 in the Cookbook Swap 2011 called Southern to the Core. NOTE - no garlic was listed in the ingredients or mentioned in the instructions so would suggest if you wish to add I think 2 to 4 cloves of roasted garlic minced through the mix would add a lovely flavour to the dish, though if your garlic is sweet you could add raw but I find a lot of people are not keen on the flavour of raw garlic in dishes."

 • Combine the cream cheese and cream in a medium bowl and add the parmesan cheese, onion and Worcestershire sauce and mix well - if your dip is too thick, add more cream until you get it to the consistency you like.
 • Cover and refrigerate, remove and let come to a soft consistency before serving.

Questions & Replies

 1. Wow, what a great recipe, where is the EDITOR???!!! Pic shows a 'browned' top, nothing in recipe ... Garliky Parmesan? Where's the Garlic? If you need good recipes let me know, I'd be happy to send some along. Good luck

 2. How is the top browned and it isn't baked?

 3. In the photo, the cheese is browned on top. The recipe says to put the dip in the fridge. Nowhere does it say to bake?

 4. Where is the garlic in this garlicky parmesan dip?

 5. Cream? What type of cream? Sour Cream? Whipping Cream? Thank you

 1. We really like this recipe! I used 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. We love how versatile it is. We like to eat it cold with veggies, or hot with bread or crackers.

 2. I used garlic paste in place of the onion as garlic dip was what I wanted. It was enjoyed as a bread and raw veggie dip along with marinated mushrooms and a chicken main last evening. :D

 3. Where's the garlic?? (grin) Did I miss it?

 4. I liked this just fine, and made a quarter of a recipe, using garlic powder and NO onion at all. I also may not have used enough cream, as my dip was stiff, which was also perfectly fine with me! I 'shaped' the dip by lining a small bowl with plastic wrap, and filling with the dip, which I chilled. Pulled it out of the fridge, removed plastic wrap and VOILA! Cute little cheesy dip! Next time I will try with roasted garlic - Thanks for sharing, I'mPat.

 5. YUM, this was so easy and quick to put together and yielded and excellent dip for crudites! Loved the creaminess and cheesy taste in this. I added 1/2 ts garlic powder and used quark instead of cream as thats what I had on hand. I also left out the Worcestershire sauce as its not vegetarian and reduced the cheese a tad. It came out so nice, Ill make it again for sure.
THANKS for sharing, Pat! :)
Made and reviewed for the Aussie/NZ Recipe Swap #57 October 2011.

With the demise of the forums and with no more interaction on site with what was a great community and it was a pleasure to get to know so many of you over the years and to have had the privilege of meeting some of you in person. For me now this is just another recipe site like to many on the net, it has lost its specialness, such a pity especially when Scripps changed the name from Recipezaar to Food.com and made this statement sorry cannot replicate here as considered invalid but they basically said yes the community was valuable hence .com was short for community but it was a pack of lies as they were not willing to put the money into that community and got rid of the forums which was the community so for .com has become .crap.
