- 1 orange, zest of
- 60 ml orange juice
- 500 g strawberries, washed and hulled
- 60 ml drambuie
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sliced almonds
directions
- Combine rind, orange juice, strawberries, Drambuie and sugar in a bowl, cover and place in fridge for 30 minutes to infuse.
- Toss almonds in a skillet over low heat for 2 minutes or until toasted, set aside.
- Spoon strawberry mixture among serving glasses, sprinkle with almonds and serve immediately.

This is a lovely summer dessert. I didn't add any sugar to the berry marinade but when in the dish I felt that it needed a slight extra touch because I had no almonds. I mixed 1/3 tsp of Splenda brown sugar into 1-1 1/2 TB of leftover fat free sour cream and put it on top of the dessert. I put the berries in the fridge before dinner and that were lovely about 45 mins later.
