This pie was absolutely scrumptious! I used dewberries that I had picked and frozen. The pie had the perfect touch of sweetness and was super easy to make. I made the mistake of trying to cut the pie before it completely cooled, and my top crust sort of fell apart. After being completely cooled, the pie had a nice thick filling. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

I found a huge dewberry patch on one of my bike rides and went back and picked 4 gallons in a couple of hours. I have been experimenting with different cobbler recipes because I didnt think I could do a pie. Well, I was wrong! This is a simple pie recipe and even with store bought pie crusts, was just delicious! This will be my go to recipe going through these berries! Thanks for sharing!

I had made this pie about a week ago when we found mounds of wild dewberries along our fence line. I added an extra cup of berries and a 1/4 cup of sugar because all my pie pans are deep. I also sprinkled a light coating of sugar over the brushed egg white on the crust. It was one of the best fruit pies I have ever had. The recipe is simple, but very tasty. It helped picking the berries at their peak, too. I would also recommend have a pizza stone or cookie tray on the lower over shelf to collect any spillage from the bubbly berries. Enjoy!
