Cream Cheese French Toast Casserole

"This is the most delicious French toast, that is made in the oven, serve sprinkled with powdered sugar, and smothered with maple syrup. Plan ahead this needs to be chilled overnight."

  1. This is my special company french toast casserole. Everyone loves it.
  2. I don't know what I did wrong, but to me this was a waste of cream cheese! followed the directions exactly and found it pretty tasteless. Kind of like chewing on an eggy sponge. Sorry, just didn't do it for me.
  3. FANTASTIC! I will make this every Christmas morning forever! What a success! I used Fat Free half-n-half (because that is all I had) and it was still delicious! Light and fluffy, but still very satisfying and filling due to the eggs. I may try to add some blueberries or sweetened cranberries next time.
  4. Really good recipe. I used the bread machine kneaded challah off this site and cubed up most of the loaf. I did use only 6 eggs, just from having made casseroles of this type before... I soaked overnight, let it sit, and after it baked about 15 minutes I used a spatula and flipped this (in manageable portions), then flipped again after 40 minutes. I've found that this keeps the top from getting too dry and redistributes the custard. Baked about 55 minutes total in an air bake pan. Wonderful breakfast.
  5. I used cubes challah bread and added cinnamon and nutmeg according to other reviewers suggestions. I also added about a cup of blueberries. This was SO SO good. Made it for Mother's Day brunch and had many happy bellies!
