  1. These are wonderful. And evil. I have made them twice so far. What I learned after the first time was that it really helps to bake them for a full 30 minutes COVERED, and then 15 minutes uncovered. It helps cook the dough more. Also, it really is important to seal the apple wedge within the dough... the first time I made these I left the apple hanging out because it seemed impossible to cover it completely. But the apple was much more tender when I wrapped it completely the second time around. Thanks for posting this!

  2. Crazy good! Very quick, these could be made in quantity and served for a holiday brunch. Will definitely make again, and will follow Chef Itchy Monkey's suggestion to bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for 15 so the dough will cook through. Made for Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup tag game.

  3. Sooooooo good and dangerous (I'm in danger of eating them all right now!) I used a Jonagold apple and dark brown sugar. I agree with other reviews that the dough was a little, well, "doughy" on the bottom and there also seemed to be a lot of sauce (delicious though it is). Next time (and there WILL be a next time!) I will try with half the amount of sauce. Thanks for the recipe!

  4. If your a little health conscience then you can use a half a stick of butter. Also use lemon water instead of soda and it always turns out fine. It tastes so good and crispy and buttery. You can also sprinkle a little bit of salt on top of the mixture for that extra buttery taste. Also if you really don't have time and if your little lazy and want to do it quick just put the croissants on the baking sheet and add all ingredients on top with the butter in the salt and take the lemon water and drizzle it over a little bit and pour the rest alone aside and wiggle it around and put it in the oven and it will turn out fine.

  5. Just made this. Sooo good. Cooked mine for 20 minutes cuz I like mine a little soft. Really good. Used the extra sauce as a topping. It got all crispy when it cooled which was what I wanted. Will be making it again.

Tweaks

  1. I use lemon water instead of Mountain Dew soda. I used a half a stick of butter and added a Sprinkle of salt for flavoring. I also add all the ingredients to the pan without using a saucepan to melt the ingredients.
