Chocolate Soda Cake

"Vegan. Two ingredients. Low fat. Can you get any better? If you want a vanilla cake or any other cake that's light in colour, do the same thing but use a lemon lime soda or clear birch beer. I suppose you could get creative with this, using cherry, orange, or any other flavoured soda, but this I'll leave that up to you:)"

  1. I bake a lot with my children, sometimes I let them choose the cake/cookie that they want to make. This time when I asked my 4 year old which cake they want to make, he told me a soda cake! So I told him there is no such thing as a soda cake. Then I decided, you know what you never know what you can find on recipezaar. And yup, I was right! This cake was yummy! Really easy to make, and very moist. It kept it's shape very well, but crumbled when I sliced them. However, since this is a low fat cake, this recipe is a real keeper, you would never guess this is a lowfat cake, tastes just like the real thing! Thanks Aerobicon for sharing this great recipe!

  2. Works JUST as well as using water/oil/eggs, and less calories, but not necessarily healthy. Until I find a cake mix that doesn't have hydrogenated oils, I won't be making this again (that is, after the four times I've made it in the past month!). 7up works well with a white cake mix - it rises great.

  3. This is really easy and good for being low fat. I have made it several times in the past. It was shared with me as a WW recipe being low in points.
