  • Preheat oven to 180 degree Celsius.
  • Lightly oil baking (cookie sheet) tray.
  • Combine rolled oats, coconut, both flours, cocoa, sugar and bicarbonate of soda in a large mixing bowl.
  • Melt the margarine in a small saucepan and add to the dry ingredients, then add the water and then the currants and peanuts and stir so all is well combined and mixed through.
  • Roll the mixture into balls the size of a 20 cent piece and place on the baking tray.
  • Bake in oven for 15 minutes.

  1. I made these for my DH who loves anything with nuts in it. These biscuits were very easy to make, I found them a little bland but DH liked them. I made mine a little larger than a 20c piece (laziness) and it made 24. I will be making these again, and thanks for posting another great nut recipe Pat.

With the demise of the forums and with no more interaction on site with what was a great community and it was a pleasure to get to know so many of you over the years and to have had the privilege of meeting some of you in person. For me now this is just another recipe site like to many on the net, it has lost its specialness, such a pity especially when Scripps changed the name from Recipezaar to Food.com and made this statement sorry cannot replicate here as considered invalid but they basically said yes the community was valuable hence .com was short for community but it was a pack of lies as they were not willing to put the money into that community and got rid of the forums which was the community so for .com has become .crap.
