Peanut
Peanuts are not a nut all, they are a legume. They are also referred to as the groundnut. Peanuts are native to South America, and are an annual herbaceous plant. After pollination, the fruit develops into a legume 3-7 cm long and contains 2-4 seeds, which are forced under ground then mature. Peanuts grow best in light, sandy loam soil. Peanuts are very popular and are found in many products today; those with peanut allergies need to read labels to make sure nothing is produced in plants that contain peanut products.
